Challenge

Encourage San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) employees to take part in project initiatives and leadership roles to help grow and transform the agency's future.

Solution

Create a visual representation of what RTD would look like in 5-10-15 years into the future. A RTD-branded electric bus was used to depict the future mode of transportation moving into clean energy.  Moreover, a magnetic levitation concept was introduced to help illustrate the reduction of road wear and improve passenger comfort and bus efficiencies overall. The goal was to stimulate employees' ideas and imagination and turn them into action items. 

Result

As of January 2017, San Joaquin RTD will receive 15 new electric buses.  RTD is in the process of being the first all-electric bus corridor in the nation by early 2018.
